Det er mange der ute som har greid å snike seg til en iPad, men som gjerne skulle vært på nett utenfor wlan soner

Here`s some steps when youre phone has been in contact with water:

-Remove the battery right away
the combination of saltwater, copper and power leads to no good

-Remove the SIM card and Memory card

- Let the phone dry up to 3 days
You can also "bake" the phone in the oven on 50*C for a few hours, let the oven door be slightly open

- When its dry, you can try to start up the phone
if it lights up but nothing else happens, take out the battery and dry it some more

Most serviceshops wont repair phones that has been in contact with water, because problems can occure later. Good Luck!

Google expects around 18 new phones with Android OS during this year . Andy Rubin, Googles mobile platform manager, said on a press conference that it might be 20, but at least 18 is in production.

Nokia will probably realease a phone this year with capasative display (same kind og of display wich are used on iPhone) The known rumorspreading Digitimes wrote about this news wich has it orgin in the componet industry.
Acording to Digitimes Nokia put in an order for displays and touchcomponents at Synaptics, in addition to 3,5" touchdisplays from Wintek . the displays should be on a terminal lanching 3rd. quarter this year acording to rumors.
Capasative displays support multi touch, And Nokia will probably launch a phone like this in 2009 . But rumors is rumors, i cant confirm anything.

HTC Magic is the first Android phone on the Norwegian market. I have no confirmed date, But id shouldnt be to far away. The price will be aprox. 3800 NOK, wich is not the sheapest smartphone, but far away from the most expensive.
Android is a free OS based on open source. Android uses mostly Google-services for its functions like navigation, search and email, but with open source you are free to install other aplications.

Expectations to the new Nokia N97 are skyhigh, and some new details is released.

its already known that the successor to N95 and N96 will have 3,5 " touchscreen , slide QWERTY-keyboard , up to 48 GB memory and 5 megapixel camera and 30 FPS Video. The smartphone will also support fileshare via Ovi.

Its never been mencioned what kind of processor N97 will use. But now Engadget haver some news that can be disapinting for someone

N97 will usa a single-core ARM11 processor with 434 MHz. thats not more than 65 MHz more than Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic.

Mange konkurrenter
its an improvement, but the question is is it good enough to be Nokias flagship. It will compete against phones like Sony Ericsson Xperia X1, HTC Touch HD and Iphone 3G.

Anyway, i think its enough, Windows mobile needs bigger processor to run because its a demanding OS, symbian is much more streamlined.

O2 Germany have officially announced the Samsung I7500 Android cellphone, the first device for both Samsung and the carrier. The I7500 has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, together with a 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen running at 320 x 480.

Other specs include GPS, WiFi b/g and HSPA, together with 40GB of storage (8GB internal; up to 32GB via a microSD card). There’s also Bluetooth 2.0, a 1,500mAh battery and the usual bevy of Google applications and access to the Android Market. The whole thing measures 115 x 56 x 11.9 mm, and still finds room for a 3.5mm headphone socket and microUSB port.
The Samsung I7500 will be available exclusively from O2 in Germany from June 2009. Pricing for the handset itself has not been announced, but the carrier has confirmed that no specific tariffs or service plans will be required; buyers will be able to choose any from O2’s range.

theres no indication that any operator in Norway will follow up this, but we can hope.

Battery capacity- what to do?

One of the questions i often get is why is there so low battery capasity, let me try to explain this electric phenomenon;

When it comes to power consumption in a cell phone its not the bluetooth or display thats the problem, network is by far the worst factor especilly when you are using 3G on your phone.
the software in the phone is set up to use the the best network wich is 3G, when 3G is not avalible it will switch over to 2G or GSM.
Solution:
If you dont use alot of web on your phone, go to the settings menu and turn of 3G, this will probably dubble your batterytime(depends on network coverage where you are), if you use push mail on your phone go to the mail settings menu and switch Sync ratio to ex 15 min. instead of always on, this will save you 15-50% battery capacity.

Sony Ericsson will launch some new models 28th of may. source Mobil.se. at the same time they will present the new phone Idou ( strange name? sounds like something a hooker would say; I do u long time soldierboy)

Idou is a touchscreen based phone with 12 MP Camera and probably Cybershot optics, it will be entertaiment focused and it will run Symbian S60 5th edition like Nokia 5800, but with SE`s own skin it will probably look alot different.

Have you ever tried to write an sms message while walking with iPhone? it can be hard, but maybe theres a light in the tunnel.

Apple wants to make a software that enlarges your icons when theres movement in the phone using Gyroscope and motiondetection. i love this, like i said before, I`m a sucker for new inovation in old technology.

Mobil.se informs that apple also looks into software that learns wich icons you often open by mistake, and makes it harder to open next time, i can see a cuple of problems with this, but those who waits.....

HTC pro 2

I was in a meeting with HTC a cuple a weeks ago, and got to try the new HTC pro 2. and finally i can talk about it. its quite bigger than its earlier version but in a good way. the keyboard is a dream to work with and the display has gone frome 2,8" to 3,6" with 800x480 pixels with Wvga wich makes it sharp as a razor.

I haven`t been a big HTC fan at all, but some of the new HTC models have really opened my eyes. Another nice function is, when you lay down the phone face down, it automaticly switches to loudspeaker and work really good as a conference phone with extra microphone with noise reduction. theres a software in the phone to support the new conference app. wich impresses, where you easily can set up a conference for several people (depends on your operator Telenor and Netcom supports 5+you)

The Pro 2 also impresses when it comes to material, less plastic and more metal

Sony Ericsson to use android, but not yet. Ericsson-boss Hideki Komiyama said last Friday that Android needs alot more testing, and the demand on android should be larger. Thats why it will take time before we will see the first Sony Ericsson Android phone.

Three OS`s from SE
Sony Ericsson will use three OS`s for their phones: Symbian, Windows Mobile andAndroid. this is the plan to seperate themselves from the competitors like Nokia wich only uses Symbian.

My opinion about this if it matters to anyone, is that using to much OS`s excludes business use, because the support pressure on the IT department in businesses is to great using more than one standard.

I`m one of those who cant seem to find a good bluetooth hansdsfree that fits my ear, but this one is the best i`ve ever tested, its lightweight (8 grams) and 7 days standby time and 5 hours talktime. it comes with a beltholder that you can connect to usb for charging. I got my E75 today and just started it up, this look good, the HTML viewer is something tha Nokia has lacked for along time. Some of the new features in the mail viewer includes multiple accounts, floder support, better meeting view with atendees.

other great specs on the phone is the qwerty keyboard; great keys with nice feedback.

This will probably be Nokias hit this year on businesses

Finally Nokia pout 3,5 mm jack on the Eseries so that i can use my sennheiser headset without using a converter.

I was a bit disapointed that they didn`t use maps 3.0 but you can download this for free from Nokia Betalabs

Dark times for Sony Ericsson

SE loosing billions and 2000 people must go:

Sony Ericsson Have lost over 2,5 Billion NOK so far this. the numbers are darker than last quarter. when SE lost 1,7 Billion. In a press release today SE informs that 2000 people are let go as a direct result off the loss. This is the 3rd action they`ve done so far in a short period of time.

Sony Ericsson sold 14,5 million units during the first 3 month this year, that is almost 8 million less than the same period last year.

So mayby my theory is corect?

Netcom is launching their 4g Network in Oslo 2010. Telenor og Tele 2 has started building in sweden.
The key to success is to use the Long Term Evolution (LTE)-technology in the best way, and to make the service as atractible as possible in form of good services. In Norway LTE will be used as technology in the 4th generation mobile network (4G) an alternate solution to LTE is Wimax wich is in a testing state in US and Russia. Nokia Dismissed their new wimax phone . some might think that the 4G network will replace 2G and 3G, but this it not the case. LTE is based entirely on mobile data traffic and not voice . instead you will get by far greater speed in the mobile data network. the theoretical speed in norway with HSDPA (3,5G) is 7,5 Mb/s. With LTE you will have a theoretical speed of 100 MB/s to start with
the actual speed will depend on ho many users are connected to the same basestation, but will probably be over 10 times the speed we are used to today
4G will probably release alot of traffic from the existing networks wich will give the rest of the population outside of oslo better bandwith on the 3G network

Bluetooth 3.0 launch next week

Nokia N97 - new smartphone flagship

I`m one of the lucky ones to have tried this handson, and i`m impressed, verry impressed. the first thing that hits me is 3,5" 16:9 touchscreen. the reaction in the touch is by far better than many other touchscreens i`ve seen. It`s equipped with most of the same functions like other Nseries; AGPS, 30FPS video, 5MP camera with carl zeiss, 3,5 mm jack and so on, but one thing that really impresses is 32 GB Inetrnalmemory wich can be expaned with 16GB memorycard. and i think 48GB should be enough for anyone.

N97 runs Symbian but the UI is changed a bit, the idlescreen is based on widgets, and with the new OVI store this should be a joy working with. Rumors has it that facebook will be integrated in the contacts menu, and wigets for twitter and other sosial media will be out at launch (rumers from blogs)

With Nokia messaging, you have access to multiple folders an multiple e-mail accounts in HTML, and the layout is so much better (have tested it)
It still supports Blackberry and Exchange but also pop mail with easy install.

Pushmail for everyone!
If i understand corectly, nokia messaging server connects directly to the most used email suppliers like G-mail, Yahoo, Hotmail and others and push the email out to the terminal, that means that you can have full push email on your g-mail account for a verry low price (i dont have the price at this moment , but will inform you all when i do)

Nokia E75 will be the first terminal to use this layout as an native client, but the push solution for pop will be out with the N97

SonyEricsson went down about a billion the first quarter this year,my first thoughts is; why do Sony need Ericsson? SonyEricssons biggest brand names are Cybershot and walkman, both owned by Sony, and if you ask any average cellphone user on the street (that means im not included) what kind of a phone theire using, the answer will often be "some kind of sony"The brand name Ericsson isnt what it used to be. I might be wrong but the rumors have it that the agreement between Sony and Ericsson is about to run out. so it makes me wonder........

Den matcher faktisk Nokia N95 og de andre "high end" terminalene på funksjoner - 5 mp kamera, mail for exchange, HSDPA, TV-ut osv. den har det meste, den er mindre og den er billigere, rundt 3000 uten ab. har testet den et par dager nå, jeg liker den. hva nokia tenkte på når de lagde et produkt som konkurrerer med Nseries vet jeg ikke, men så lenge det gangner oss er jeg fornøyd.

Sony Ericsson c702 - Gjennomført hardhaus

Tok frem Sony Ericsson c702 for å teste litt i dag, det er få terminaler på markedet i dag som tåler litt ekstra juling. må si at c702 er et gjennomført tilskudd til disse.

c702 har en del funkjsoner som har vært savnet på andre modeller som er IP54 sertifisert - Den skal støtte IP54-standarden som setter kriterier for hva den skal tåle av fukt og inntrenging av partikler. Rent konkret betyr 5-tallet at ingen objekter ned til 1 mm i diameter ikke skal kunne trenge inn i telefonen. 4-tallet betyr at den skal tåle vannsprut, men ikke å være nedsenket i vann.

Glem andre søketjenester på mobilen- 118 mobilsøk er redningen

118 Mobil lanseres i disse dager – det er en applikasjon for moderne mobiltelefoner som slår opp nummeret ”i fart” når du får en innkommende samtale.

Men det stopper ikke der, jeg har testet tjenesten på min Nokia E71, tjenesten fungerer utrolig bra selv i anropsloggen, man behøver ikke engang søke, informasjonen vil automatisk dukke opp med et ikon som viser at informasjonen om det ukjente nr. er hentet fra 118 mobilsøk.

En annen fiffig funksjon er at når man har hentet informasjon om ett nr, bedrift eller person, kan man klikke valg- mer info, så blir man koblet mot web for å finne f.eks hjemmesiden til bedriften eller annen søkbar informasjon fra nettet. Jeg søkte opp meg selv, klikket mer info, og der var jeg med bilde og alt mulig (dette forutsetter jo så klart at det er tilgjengelig informasjon der ute ett eller annet sted)

Førsteinntrykket imponerte stort, var veldig spent på epost via Exchange, det fungerte vanvittig bra, en av de bedre løsningene jeg har vært borti faktisk.

En annen ting som imponerte var hvor godt youtube fungerte over mobilnettet, skulle jeg gjort det samme med en Nokia f.eks, så ville dewt vært veldig hakkete, og jeg hadde vært nødt til å gå over til Wlan.

Tekstmeldinger går også greit, tar litt tid å sette seg inn i det, men etterhvert så går det faktisk greit, ikke optimalt men greit.

......Men

Første dagen jeg testet telefonen så måtte jeg lade den 3 GANGER!!!! er det mulig??? løsningen på problemet var å skru av 3G og skru av mailsync. da kan jeg gå en hel dag uten lading, men de funksjonene er de viktigste for meg.

Det jeg sitter igjen med etter testing er at terminalen er veldig spennende og byr på en del wow opplevelser, men for bedriftsbruk er den ikke egnet, men det er vel kanskje ikke meningen heller. etter å hatt terminalen en uke må jeg si at wow følelsen forsvinner gradvis etter noen dager, og man blir sittende med en "var det alt" følelse andre smartphones jeg har jobbet med, byr ofte på tankene "kan jeg gjøre det også, kult" mens med Iphone så er det "what you see is what you get"

E71 - En komplett terminal

Føler at jeg må skrive noen ord om E71, jeg er imponert....meget imponert!

Den bygger selvsagt videre på E-serien som en ettefølger av E61i. Men her er mer, som resten av mobilbransjen fokusere også Nokia på konvergens mellom jobb og privatliv - multimedia og Jobb. Av multimediafunskjoner kan man jo nevne 3,2 megapikselkamera (Carl zeis optikk) GPS og mer enn godkjent mp3 spiller.

Er sertifisert for salg og support på Iphone 3G

Da er jeg sertifisert på Iphone, imponerende hvordan et sånt produkt kan skape så mye blest, teknologien i iphone er jo ikke nyskapende... en Nokia N eller E serie er mye bedre spekket, Men alikevel imponerer brukergrensesnittet stort.

Den er intuitiv, smart en fryd å jobbe med, man blir faktisk glad inni seg når man blar mellom bilder, sanger og videoer.

Tok et bilde med Nokia E71 (3,2 MP) og et med Iphone 3G (2mp) må si at Ipgone kommer ut som en vinner i den uofisielle testen. Nå skal det sies at det var innendørs med lysrør i taket, men på fargegjengivelse vant faktisk Iphone.

Fikk en HTC Diamond i går

Testet den i 5 minutter før den gikk inn i boksen sin igjen, og langt inn i skapet med håp om at den etter kort tid ville bli glemt.....Men.....

Etter ca et døgn med HTC murring i bakhodet, måtte jeg ta en ekstra titt, den er egentlig ikke så ille (trodde jeg aldri skulle si det) Bildevisningen og webløsningen er ganske fiffig og skrivingen går ikke så galt den heller ved hjelp av T9. alt i alt, så ser jeg faktisk frem til å tested en litt til selvom Nokia E71 står som den fortsatt beste bedriftsterminalen i mine øyne.
